Karakoram International University (KIU) is a Federally Chartered pioneer Higher Education Institute of Gilgit Baltistan, established under Presidential Order-2002.KIU endeavours to develop sustainable campuses through increasing the greenspaces, reuse of wastewater and promoting green and clean energy. In this context, KIU desires to solarize its main campus Gilgit, Engineering and Technology Campus Gilgit and Sub Campuses at Hunza, Chilas and Ghizer, with the support of Higher Education Development Program (HEDP/HEC) and matching grant from its own resources.
The main objective of the project is to reduce the carbon footprint of the Energy system of KIU. The estimated solar system ranging from 350-400 KVA will be deployed with modern technologies of efficient PV System and other allied components.
Through this EoI, the interested, experienced and technically/financially sound firms are advised to apply with the following documents:
- Name of the firm, registered addresses of Main office and sub offices, nature (Company, Association of Persons or Proprietary), registration with statutory bodies (SECP, PEC etc.), length of experience etc.
- Details of Solarisations Projects completed by the firm in last 5 years. Relevant projects in hand, showing details of Client, Completion/Tendered cost, capacity of the system installed, year of completion and completion/performance certificates from client(s).
- Details of Organization including technical and non-technical staff, their qualification and relevant experience.
- Proof of financial soundness preferably audited accounts for at least one year.
- Any other information related to the project.
Interested firms may get the information about the existing installed load, its distribution and transformer load, installed at various blocks of KIU, which is available at www.kiu.edu.pk
The EOI along with all requisite documents must be mailed to Director Works KIU in sealed envelope with clearly marked on left corner “EOI for Solarisation of KIU” on or before 8th August, 2024 at 1130 Hrs through courier. By hand application shall not be accepted. The EoI received will be opened at 1200 Hrs, the same day. No late bids/applications shall be considered.
The Terms of Reference (ToR)/Bidding documents of the project will be issued to the shortlisted firms based on the above given parameters. The shortlisted firms will submit their detailed bids on Single Stage Two Envelop Procedure of PPRA-2004. In technical proposal, the shortlist firm will design the most reliable and efficient solar system based on the parameters and tentative scope of work provided in the ToR.
KIU will not be responsible for any cost incurred in preparation of the EoI and related documents.
