Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq
Quality education is a fundamental need for our students, as it helps promote and strengthen society by developing an educated youth in the region. At Karakoram International University (KIU), the quality of education, research, and service delivery remains our foremost priority. In line with the principles of Quality Management, we are committed to maintaining high standards of education across all processes, including research projects, research publication, quality education, governance and capacity building of faculty and management staff within the university.
To ensure continuous quality assurance, the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) has been established in accordance with the guidelines of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The QEC actively oversees quality standards at both the main campus and sub-campuses. Through alignment with HEC’s academic and research benchmarks, we strive to achieve excellence by conducting regular faculty and staff training, internal and external reviews, and strict compliance with accreditation requirements of relevant professional bodies.
KIU consistently submits Self-Assessment Reports (SAR base PREE) and RIPE, while all professional programs are duly accredited by their respective councils. The positive outcomes of Institutional Performance Evaluations (IPE), reviews of graduate programs (MS/PhD), and endorsements of our professional degrees reflect the confidence of national bodies in our quality assurance system. However, we remain committed to further strengthening these efforts.
Quality is not a destination but a continuous journey that demands dedication from faculty, management staff, and students alike. Our vision is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to meet the demands of the national and global job market. Through the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), we aim to enhance their employability and professional competence.
I commend the QEC team for their dedicated efforts in implementing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) systems at KIU. I encourage all stakeholders to extend their full support in further strengthening the quality and standards of teaching, research, and service delivery at our university.
