NAHE's National Outreach Program on University Management Concludes at KIU
The National Outreach Program for University Management, organized by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, concluded successfully at Karakoram International University (KIU), Gilgit, after five days of intensive training and professional development sessions.
According to the KIU Public Relations Office, the closing ceremony was attended by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq as the guest of honor, while Dr. Munir Ahmed, Head of NAHE, joined the event online as the chief guest.
Addressing the participants, Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq emphasized the importance of sharing the knowledge and skills acquired during the training with colleagues across the university. He stated that the effective implementation of the training outcomes would play a vital role in improving institutional performance and enhancing the quality of higher education in the region. He also expressed gratitude to the Higher Education Commission and NAHE for their continued support in strengthening human resource development at KIU and acknowledged the valuable contributions of the resource persons throughout the program.
In his online address, Dr. Munir Ahmed commended KIU for successfully hosting the training program and appreciated the enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated by the participants. He highlighted NAHE’s role in building the capacity of university professionals across Pakistan and encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained to bring meaningful improvements in university management and governance.
The closing ceremony was also attended by Dr. Sadia Bukhari, Deputy Director NAHE, and Mr. Sohail Raza Mangi, Deputy Director NAHE. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sadia Bukhari underscored the importance of structured and quality training programs for the sustainable growth of higher education institutions. She noted that capacity building of university management staff is a strategic investment that contributes directly to institutional efficiency, governance, and academic excellence. She encouraged participants to serve as agents of positive change within their respective departments.
The five-day training program covered a wide range of contemporary university management topics, including Professional Communication and Office Procedures, Personal and Professional Development, Public Sector Project and Financial Governance, AI for Workplace Efficiency and Smart Governance, and Strategic Planning and Policy Development for Institutional Growth.
Participants appreciated the comprehensive curriculum and practical learning opportunities offered during the workshop, noting that the training significantly enhanced their understanding of modern university management practices and institutional leadership.
The successful completion of the program reflects KIU’s continued commitment to professional development, institutional excellence, and aligning its human resource capacity with national higher education standards.
