Acting Vice Chancellor of Karakoram International University (KIU), Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq, called on Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, to discuss the university's academic, research, infrastructure, and financial priorities.

According to the KIU Public Relations Office, the Acting Vice Chancellor gave a comprehensive presentation on KIU's ongoing academic programs, research initiatives, development projects, and financial situation. He highlighted the challenges facing the university and requested the Federal Government's support in strengthening higher education and research at KIU. He also urged the early release of the development grant approved by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, stating that its timely disbursement would significantly accelerate the university's development agenda.

Federal Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal assured the Acting Vice Chancellor that the proposals presented by KIU would be given due consideration and reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to supporting the university. He emphasized the importance of quality education, curriculum modernization, and skills development, urging universities to strengthen research, embrace emerging technologies, and enhance collaboration with industry to prepare graduates for the evolving job market.
